Becoming

Becoming by Sandra Guy

I am not yet born

But if I were a flower
I would be a lily
Blazing fuchsia
My perfume permeating heaven

And if I were a bird
I would be two ravens
Fearless shadows against the sky
Flying back to my one-eyed lord

If I were a word
I would be "wonderful"
Open to invitation, reliant on imagination
Defined by the one who pronounced me

And if I were a story
I'd be the tale of Taliesin
Casual inspiration and endless change
Pursed by an almighty Goddess
