Every year the Fool sets out on quest from a mystical world to find a Reader in this one. Under his influence, the Reader will unwittingly breathe life into each of the 21 archetypes of the Major Arcarna and set them loose in her world. After three Readings the Fool disappears and the Arcana is fed with the lifeforce of the townspeople it has worked through. The town will be dust by the time it is over but the magical population of the Major Arcana sustained for another cycle of birth and transformation.
